Writing, directing and producing his first film at the age of 17, Sam Benavides began to sculpt his vision for filmmaking since the production of "Forgotten Breath" nearly ten years ago.

Hailed by the Wisconsin State Journal as "a gritty tale of Generation X," "Forgotten Breath" is a contemporary coming of age story set in the sort of urban America wherein street violence, domestic abuse and complacent authority are social norms. This film charts the tale of two best friends who find themselves in dire need of escaping the harsh realities that make up their daily lives.

Screened in Madison 20th Century Theatres, "Forgotten Breath" sold out such sleeper hits as "Boogie Nights" and 'Starship Troopers" during its 3-day release alone. The film gained tremendous recognition from local audiences and critics alike. City-wide endorsement extended through to over 25 public entities, including Borders Booksellers and other private venders.
